We're seeking experienced consultants to strengthen our client's internal teams as they take over a segment of a substantial application landscape. The initiative involves the full operational management of a diverse array of business applications, all of which present unique technological and business challenges.
Responsibilities And Role
The successful candidates will engage in:
- Handover/Takeover processes including documentation, application maintenance, and feature development.
- Re-engineering or complete rewriting of applications to ensure compliance with current development standards.
- Development and maintenance of business applications, alongside application components and web services.
- Collaboration with technical leads and senior software architects to design architectural components.
- Participation in technical working groups and Scrum meetings, contributing to user interaction as needed.
- Assisting in testing, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation, and reporting.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates with:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of full-time Java development experience, ideally full-stack but backend with frontend awareness is acceptable.
- A background in multi-system integration and working within complex environments.
- Technical knowledge and practical experience with required technologies including Java 21+ and Spring Framework, JPA with Hibernate, RESTful Web Services, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- A familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, continuous integration, and documentation practices such as BPMN and UML.
- Problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented approach, with a proven ability to integrate into an existing team and mentor junior members.
Language Requirements And Additional Information
Fluency in both Dutch and English at an expert level is essential, with proficiency in French being highly advantageous. This role is based in Brussels, with flexibility for remote work available. Candidates should be prepared to work on-site at least two days per week.
